FROM THE BOARD OF COMMUNITY CARE
NEW SCOTLAND EXTRA HELPINGS is made up of a group
of people who buy one or more orders a month and covers
our area. You can buy as many orders as you like or
skip a month. PLEASE NOTE: this is not a handout -
it is for everyone! With each order you purchase,
$.50 goes to run the small shopping group, provide
paper to print advertising sheets, and stamps to get
the word out to churches, towns and newspapers. Any
extra money buys orders for local Food Pantries (2
or 3 orders a month). How does it work? You place
your order early in the month and pick it up at a
designated location at the end of the month. It costs
$14. an order for Extra Helpings Menu of food, and
$16. an order for the month's special (for March it
was spiral cut smoked ham - average weight 7 to 8
lbs.) and you may place as many orders as you like.
Forms and all the information about food, deadlines
and pick up points will continue to be available on
the table outside of our nursery. Check out the table
at the beginning of each month so you won't miss the
deadline for ordering.
ALPHA CARE PREGNANCY CENTER
We support them by collecting baby items-- clothes,
diapers, bottles, car seats, etc. and maternity clothes
to support new moms and their families. Items may
be placed in the basket in the Committee Workroom.
HAVE YOU SIGNED UP TO DONATE BLOOD YET?
The date is drawing near - April 26, 9 a.m. to
1 p.m. Call Barbara Mabee (767-9441) to reserve your
time!
BACK PACK DRIVE
As schools start closing in May and June, please remember
our Back Pack Drive. We will be collecting used (in
good condition) back packs for underprivileged children
in area schools. We will then be filling them with
standard school supplies (paper, pencils, crayons,
markers and notebooks) to be distributed in the fall.
Please leave your donations in the committee workroom
labeled Back Pack Drive.
