Through Loving Care for One Another

ORPHAN GRAIN TRAIN MINISTRY
I would like to thank the following people who helped on our work day at Bethlehem on March 8th: Tom Mabee, Barb Mabee, Tom Mabee, Susan Plank, Dave Plank, Dolores Jerabek, Eric Jerabek, Sue Haswell, Rob Hartnett, June Boluch, Norbert Luft, Mary Alice Smith, Dee Ertell, Peter Dunkerley and Rhonda Ballou. We also are thankful for the many donations of clothing and medical supplies received this month. We will continue to accept donations. If you are donating unexpired medicines or personal hygiene items, they must be unopened. Please leave them in the storage room in the basement of the church. Clearly mark them OGT. Our next packing date at Bethlehem is Saturday, April 12, from 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. If you can help, please call Rhonda Ballou (439-3078).

FROM THE BOARD OF COMMUNITY CARE
NEW SCOTLAND EXTRA HELPINGS is made up of a group of people who buy one or more orders a month and covers our area. You can buy as many orders as you like or skip a month. PLEASE NOTE: this is not a handout - it is for everyone! With each order you purchase, $.50 goes to run the small shopping group, provide paper to print advertising sheets, and stamps to get the word out to churches, towns and newspapers. Any extra money buys orders for local Food Pantries (2 or 3 orders a month). How does it work? You place your order early in the month and pick it up at a designated location at the end of the month. It costs $14. an order for Extra Helpings Menu of food, and $16. an order for the month's special (for March it was spiral cut smoked ham - average weight 7 to 8 lbs.) and you may place as many orders as you like. Forms and all the information about food, deadlines and pick up points will continue to be available on the table outside of our nursery. Check out the table at the beginning of each month so you won't miss the deadline for ordering.

ALPHA CARE PREGNANCY CENTER
We support them by collecting baby items-- clothes, diapers, bottles, car seats, etc. and maternity clothes to support new moms and their families. Items may be placed in the basket in the Committee Workroom.

HAVE YOU SIGNED UP TO DONATE BLOOD YET?
The date is drawing near - April 26, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call Barbara Mabee (767-9441) to reserve your time!

BACK PACK DRIVE
As schools start closing in May and June, please remember our Back Pack Drive. We will be collecting used (in good condition) back packs for underprivileged children in area schools. We will then be filling them with standard school supplies (paper, pencils, crayons, markers and notebooks) to be distributed in the fall. Please leave your donations in the committee workroom labeled Back Pack Drive.
