Wow!

Fourteen youth from our congregation have just returned from the LCMS National Youth Gathering. What an experience! We sang, we danced, we worshiped, we served, and, yes, we did see Mickey Mouse. Most importantly, though, we experienced how God - His power, truth, and love - are "Beyond Imagination."

The theme for the Gathering was Ephesians 3:20-21:

"Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout al generations, forever and ever! Amen!"

What a wonderful message, not just for our youth, but for all of us. Just when we think that we have an idea of how wide God's embrace is, we find out it's wider. When we begin to think we understand how long God will wait on His people, we find out it's longer. When we think we know how high His majesty, we find out it's higher. And when we think we have experienced the depths of His love, we learn that it is deeper.

That is what over 30,000 youth learned and lived in Orlando, and that is the joyful truth that each of us is called to live each and every day. The wonder, power, majesty and grace of God are "Beyond Imagination," and they are for you!
